Bangladesh has won maiden Under-16 South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) championship title 2015. In the title clash played at the Sylhet District Stadium the hosts defeated defending champions India 4-2 in penalties shoot out. In the regular play, both team had scored equal one goal against each other. The goals were scored by Fahim Murshed (Bangladesh) in the 46th minute and later Amey Morajkar (India) scored equalised goal in the 60th minute of the match. In the penalty shootout, Bangladesh did not miss any of their four penalties, while India failed to score its second and fourth shootout resulting Bangladesh to win title for the first time. In this edition Under-16 SAFF tournament Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the Maldives had participated.
